The Bolivian Ram, or Bolivian Butterfly, Ruby Cichlid or Ruby Clown, is a dwarf cichlid with a peaceful temperament, suitable for community set-ups, growing to round 3 inches. Body colour tends to be light blue, with a black eye spot on the body and red fins that extend out akin to a butterfly. They are closely related to the Venezuelan Ram Cichlid, and embody many of the same qualities including intelligence recognised in many cichlid varieties. A balanced diet is recommended, consisting of flake, pellets live and/or frozen foods. To help these fish feel secure, dense planting, decoration and cover is recommended dither fish such as small tetras can also help keep these fish calm.
