Our Guide To Keeping L333 King Tiger Pleco

  1. About Fish Species:

    • Scientific name: Hypancistrus sp.
    • Common name: L333 King Tiger Pleco
    • Family: Loricariidae
    • Origin: Amazon Basin in South America
    • Adult length: 15-20 cm
    • Lifespan: 10-15 years
  2. Tank Setup:

    • L333 King Tiger Plecos require a tank with plenty of hiding places such as caves, driftwood, and rocks.
    • Provide a sandy substrate and some smooth river rocks to mimic their natural habitat.
  3. Water Parameters:

    • Maintain water conditions with a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 and a temperature between 24 to 28°C (75 to 82°F).
    • Ensure good water quality with regular water changes and filtration.
  4. Filtration and Water Flow:

    • Use a canister filter with moderate flow to provide clean water and maintain good oxygenation.
  5. Diet:

    • L333 King Tiger Plecos are omnivores. Offer them a varied diet including high-quality sinking pellets, algae wafers, and occasional treats like blanched vegetables and live or frozen foods.
    • Provide driftwood in the tank as part of their diet, as they graze on the wood for fiber and essential nutrients.
  6. Tank mates:

    • L333 King Tiger Plecos are peaceful but territorial towards their own species. Keep them in a tank with other peaceful community fish such as tetras, rasboras, and peaceful cichlids.
    • Avoid keeping them with aggressive or nippy tank mates.
  7. Behavior and Compatibility:

    • L333 King Tiger Plecos are nocturnal and spend much of the day hiding in caves or among driftwood.
    • They may be territorial towards other bottom-dwelling fish, so provide ample hiding spaces to reduce aggression.
