2. Tank Setup:

   • The L398 Tankei Tiger Pleco thrives in a mature aquarium with plenty of driftwood, caves and shaded areas. A minimum aquarium size of 120L is recommended, although larger aquariums provide additional stability and space.
   • Use a sand or fine gravel substrate together with smooth rocks and bogwood to replicate its natural habitat. Driftwood is essential as this species continually grazes on it and uses it for shelter.
   • Hardy plants such as Java Fern, Anubias and Bucephalandra can be attached to wood and rocks while leaving open areas for feeding and movement.

3. Water Parameters:

   • L398 Tankei Tiger Plecos prefer soft to moderately hard water with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5.

   • The L398 Tankei Tiger Pleco is primarily a wood-grazing herbivore and should always have access to natural driftwood, which is important for healthy digestion.
   • Offer a varied diet consisting of algae wafers, spirulina pellets and other high-quality sinking vegetable-based foods.
   • Supplement the diet with fresh vegetables such as courgette, cucumber, green beans, spinach and squash. Occasional protein-rich treats such as bloodworms or brine shrimp may be offered sparingly.

   • They can also be kept with other peaceful Plecos if sufficient caves and driftwood are available to establish separate territories.

   • This species is generally tolerant of other community fish but may defend its preferred cave against other bottom-dwelling Plecos if space is limited.
