Tank Setup:
- Assassin Snails are best kept in tanks with fine substrate where they can burrow. A tank size of at least 40L is suitable for a small group.
- Provide hiding spots such as caves, driftwood, or dense vegetation.
-
Water Parameters:
- Assassin Snails thrive in stable water conditions with a pH range of 7.0 to 8.0.
- Keep the water temperature between 22 to 28°C (72 to 82°F).
-
Filtration and Water Flow:
- A gentle water flow is ideal for Assassin Snails; choose a filter that doesn't create strong currents.
-
Diet:
- Assassin Snails primarily feed on other snails. They will also scavenge for leftover food in the tank.
- Occasionally supplement their diet with sinking pellets or algae wafers if snail populations are low.
-
Tank mates:
- Assassin Snails are peaceful and solitary, best kept alone or in small groups.
- They are compatible with most peaceful community fish, but avoid keeping them with large, aggressive species that may harm them.
-
Behavior and Compatibility:
- Assassin Snails are nocturnal and spend much of their time burrowed or moving slowly across surfaces.
- They are excellent for controlling pest snail populations in aquariums.
